Role overview

Location: Stevenage

Salary: Up to £53,000 per annum + Overtime

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 17.00 pm

About the role

Role Overview
 
To lead and manage a team of HVAC Technicians in delivering safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance and repair of HVAC systems across the Stevenage site. The role ensures contractual SLA/KPI compliance, maximum asset availability, and adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements. The Team Leader provides technical guidance, workload allocation, and full oversight of subcontractors.
 
What you'll do:
 
  • Ensure HVAC systems (e.g. F-Gas, Legionella) are compliant and operational.
  • Lead your team to work safely and follow all RAMS, permits, and legal requirements
  • Oversee maintenance and repairs on HVAC assets like chillers, AHUs, FCUs, and ventilation systems.
  • Manage work orders, spare parts, and stock levels to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and ensure safety procedures and permits are followed.
  • Maintain accurate records in CAFM systems and escalate issues when needed.
  • Provide updates to management and support your line manager when required.
  • Coach and develop technicians, promoting high standards and team resilience.
  • Ensure work in GxP areas meets required standards and staff are properly trained.
  • Typically manage 3 direct reports, oversee training, compliance, and subcontractor activity.
 
Who you'll be: 
 
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a mechanical trade discipline.
  • Demonstrable hands-on maintenance experience in a critical environment.
  • Strong awareness of health, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Good IT skills (Word, Excel, CAFM systems).
  • Effective communication skills with peers, managers, and clients.
  • Desirable – previous people management experience.
  • Desirable – ILM Level 3 or higher
 
Other Factors:
